Betty was born January 20, 1945 in Berryville, Arkansas, daughter of the late Alvy Robert Overacre and Susie Berniece Farmer Overacre. She was the Store Manager of the Brass House and Golden Chain Gang in the LaGrange Mall. Betty loved travel, going on cruises, playing the slots, and a good game of cards. She was an avid Braves fan and known for her wonderful home cooking. Betty was passionate about animals and was always taking in strays. She will be remembered for her big love, spreading joy and missed by all that knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Donald “Tom” Foster; and her sister, Pat Shull.
Survivors include her sons, Tom (Marianne) Nelson, Ray (Wanda) Nelson and Jeff (Heather) Foster; grandchildren, Kristen Nelson, William (Cami) Nelson, Steven Nelson, Jessica (Joey) Johnson, Joshua Sivell and Tiffany Sivell; great grandchildren, Trent Nelson, Kinley Nelson, Rhett Nelson and Baby; plus many other close cousins, treasured relatives and dear friends from coast to coast.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 1:00pm Saturday, March 25, 2023 in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Danny Jeter officiating. The Family will receive friends from 12:00pm until service time.
Family and Friends will gather at 4:00pm Saturday, March 25, 2023 in Meadoway Gardens for the inurnment of Betty Jo Foster and Oliver Donald “Tom” Foster.
