Mrs. Duncan was born November 10, 1938 in Sylacauga, AL, daughter of the late Homer Bassett and Octavia McClellen Bassett. She was a faithful member of Roper Heights Baptist Church in West Point, GA. Betty enjoyed going to yard sales, traveling to the mountains, watching her game shows and playing cards and games with family and friends. Her greatest delight was spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Marvin Duncan, Sr.; her siblings, Carl Bassett, Anne Spencer, Sue Potts and Ronnie Bassett.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory, her son, John M. Duncan Jr and his wife, Amber Walls Duncan; daughter, Gina Spradlin and her fiancé, Scott Wilson; grandchildren, Nathan Duncan, Matthew Duncan, Savannah Duncan and Colton Duncan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Pauline Duncan; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Gathering of Family and Friends will be Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at Roper Heights Baptist Church and the Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00pm at the church with Pastor Donnie Benefield and Pastor Eric Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
