Mrs. Cobb was born July 11, 1918 in Dadeville, Alabama, daughter of the late Henry David and Edna Hicks Reams. She was a member of Callaway Baptist Church for 75 years and taught Sunday School for more than fifty years. She was retired from the Troup County School System as a paraprofessional at Rosemont Elementary School.
Survivors include four daughters and one son, Miriam Cobb Martz of Houston, Texas, Wynelle Cobb Dale of Atlanta, Phyllis and Glenn Bailey and Bobbie and Billy Whitten, all of LaGrange, and Terry and Sally Cobb of Pine Mountain, Georgia. Mrs. Cobb has 10 grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Cobb, and three brothers, Aubrey, Fulton, and Roland Reams.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Martha Dye of First United Methodist Church of Pine Mountain, and Reverend Ronnie Jordan of Callaway Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made in memory of Mrs. Marie Cobb to the Callaway Baptist Church Building Fund.
