Robert earned an AA degree from Mt. San Antonio College before completing his Bachelor of Science in electronic engineering at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. With this degree he worked 33 years as an engineer for the Navy Civil Service in Point Loma, CA.
Bob, as he was called by his loved ones, was active in his community. He was a Boy Scout Leader, the guitarist for his church's choir, and a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul and Santa Sophia. When he wasn't giving back to others, he was hiking with his beloved wife. He accomplished many hikes in the Sierras and conquered Mt. Whitney. He also enjoyed spending his time woodworking and camping.
Robert is survived by his wife, Lorraine; son Martin; son Brett; son Steven; son David; daughter Jennifer; and son Matthew; sister Donna Sachek and sister Joan Walsten; grandchildren Elijah, Jackson, Toby and Luna.
A funeral service for Robert will be held Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Santa Sophia Catholic Church, 9800 San Juan St., Spring Valley, CA 91977.
