Peter Louis Steven Manos

Peter Louis Steven Manos was born on March 21, 1975, in San Diego, California.

He died October 25, 2018.

He was many things – a sportsman, a musician, an entrepreneur, an animal lover, a great friend, son, brother and loving father. He was loved for his colorful personality and generosity to everyone he met. He always championed the underdog and could be relied upon to stand up for others and be there when needed. He has been described as “the life of the party” by his closest friends.

As a little boy, Peter was a great athlete and played many sports. He especially loved competing on the soccer pitch and began playing AYSO soccer in kindergarten, continuing for the next 9 years as a power forward and lead scorer for his teams.

The two loves of Peter’s life were his children and music. His daughters Chloe (age 25) and Petra (age 2 ½ ) captured his heart and made him endlessly proud. And it was his love of music that gave him great joy and peace. He played bass in multiple jazz-type bands over the years in several places including San Francisco, Kauai, and San Diego. One of the highlights of his life was getting the opportunity to play alongside the drummer from the legendary rock group, Chicago.

As a young man, Peter visited Hawaii and fell in love with the beautiful island atmosphere and developed a life-long enjoyment of surfing. Shortly after, he moved to Hawaii and began the state’s first hauling , recycling and redemption business. Over the next 10 years, Peter dedicated himself to building his business and even created a company website for himself. He was an ambitious hard worker and became known for being able to fix just about anything.

Perhaps Peter will be best remembered for his easy laughter and contagious sense of humor. He loved to joke around with family and friends and had a reputation for making funny faces during pictures just as the photo snapped.

Peter is survived by his parents, Steve and Elaine Manos, sister Moira Cunningham and her husband Dave and their children Molly, Megan and Gracie and his two daughters Chloe & Petra.
