Michael Patrick Mitchell

Mike graduated from Granite Hills High School. After Mike's graduation he joined the Army on April 28, 1965. After basic training Mike became a member of the 101st Airborne. Mike then became a Green Beret and was sent to Vietnam. While in Vietnam Mike was a member of an elite 10 man recon unit that spent most of its time behind enemy lines. While in Vietnam he earned the Purple Heart Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. Mike returned home and was discharged on April 26, 1968. After various jobs Mike went to work for SDG&E as a field mechanic and rose to be head mechanic. . Mike also became a union rep to aid his fellow employees. After Mike's retirement he loved his cruse trips, his cars and car shows, and his Beloved dog Austin, and his favorite girl Hayden. Mike is survived by his son Allan Mitchell, and Granddaughter Hayden Mitchell, two sisters Frances & Bob McLean of La Mesa CA. and Patty & Allen Forbes of Boise ID, and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
