Marie Diane Choklus was born in East Chicago, Indiana August 1920, the youngest of five children. She married Nemo Regman, and had one daughter born in Indiana, and a second daughter born after the family moved to S. California. Nemo passed in 1960, and Marie met Wally (Walter) Herbert, who became her second husband.
Marie was artistically creative and participated in a variety of hobbies including ceramics, oil painting, home decorating, gardening, among others.
Marie and Wally traveled extensively, enjoying cruise ships the most. Back before cruise ships were floating cities, they enjoyed being away from phones and other distractions. After Wally retired, they moved to Laughlin, NV, while keeping their home in San Diego. Marie enjoyed the casinos and the change of pace, but not always the heat. After Wally passed in 1998, Marie moved back to the San Diego house. At the time of her passing, she was living with her daughter Vicki, and husband, Bill. She crossed over peacefully in the early morning hours of September 14, 2017.
Marie is survived by daughters Geri (John) Smith and Vicki (Bill) Wingo, along with son Sean (JoAnn) Herbert, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
