Jose was born on March 10th, 1935 in San Diego, CA. He is preceded in death by mother Francisca, father Guadalupe and 5 siblings.
Jose served in the US Army from 1958 to 1964. Jose and Ladonna owned and operated Jane’s Country Kitchen in Lemon Grove from 1984 to 2009. He enjoyed football, gardening and spending time with his family.
Jose is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ladonna Alvarez; children Pamela Alvarez, Paul (Tina) Alvarez and Phillip (Amy) Alvarez; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 4 siblings.
A service will be held for Jose at 11:00 AM on March 31, 2023 with a reception to follow at Erickson-Anderson Mortuary, 8390 Allison Ave, La Mesa, CA 91942. Due to limited parking, you may need to use metered street parking ($1.25 for 2 ½ hours) or residential street parking.
