John Robert Jonas

John Robert Jonas beloved husband, brother, uncle and friend passed away on August 10, 2014. His passing leaves an enormous void in the hearts of the many people who loved him. John grew up in Dearborn, Michigan, and moved to San Diego in 1982. In 1983, he met the love of his life Linda who is also from Dearborn, and they spent 31 wonderful years together. He had many interests including music, art, magic and sports. Growing up in Detroit, he had a special fondness for the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, and Detroit Lions. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddog Lucy Little. He just loved taking her for walks and showing her off. John is survived by his best friend and loving wife Linda. His brothers Joe Jonas (Pam), Jim Jonas (Mary), Dave Jonas, Jay Munro (Danelle), Tim Munro (Vicki), His sisters, Sharon Grays (Dorian), Laura Hodge (Steve), Mary Margaret Stockdale (Dennis). John is also survived by brother-in law and sister-in law Cornel and Lydia Choskey, Mark Hollowell (Pamela). He was pre-deceased by his sister-in-law Laura Hollowell. John is also survived by his dear friends, Randy and Jackie Little, Bill Oltman and Yvonne (Gypsy) Alspaugh. A “Celebration of John’s life” will be held at El Camino Memorial, 8390 Allison Avenue, La Mesa, CA 91942 on Thursday, August 14th at 6pm with John’s ashes scattered at sea at a later date.
