Gail Heerwald

Gail Heerwald beloved sister, daughter, sister-in-law and friend, died January 4th 2023, peacefully in her sleep at Sharp Memorial Hospital. Gail Heerwald was born on January 25, 1952 in Burbank California to Lyn and Bill Heerwald. She was a life long resident of La Mesa, California. She graduated from La Mesa High School, class of 1970. Gail enjoyed embroidery and made beautiful throw blankets, pictures and pillows. She didn’t cook much but had her favorite restaurants such as Casa de Pico and DZ Akins in the La Mesa area. For over 30 years Gail spoke about her twice a week errands to her favorite Von’s Grocery Store in La Mesa and loved the deli. She enjoyed socializing with the Von’s employees and felt a personal relationship. Gail was predeceased by her parents Lyn and Bill Heerwald, Brother Philip Heerwald and younger sister Lisa Heerwald. She is survived by her sister-in-law Marybeth Heerwald. She will be missed dearly and will always be remembered for her loving soul.

Memorial Service will be held at Erickson – Anderson Mortuary, 8390 Allison Ave. La Mesa, CA. on March 9th at 11am. Committal Service will follow at El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA on March 9th at 1pm.

Memorials may be made to the following charities: National Kidney Foundation of Southern California, Inc. Epilepsy Society of San Diego County and To MADD – Mothers Against Drunk Driving, San Diego County.
