Born in Raymondville, Texas to his parents, Jose Ysaias and Maria Margarita Lopez. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Miguel Lopez. Survivors: Wife Carrie Lopez and son Francisco Gabriel Lopez Grandson: Nick Navarro. He is also survived by his sisters, Alicia Dillivan, Maria T. Lopez, Sanjuanita Handy and a brother, Jose Luis Lopez Sr., four nephews and one niece.
He was a 1971 graduate of Raymondville High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy and completed two tours of duty in Vietnam. While serving in the military Frank Lopez was awarded the following: National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with One Bronze Star, and Meritorious Unit Commendation Combat Action Ribbon. Upon completion of his enlistment, he was honorably discharged.
After serving in the US Navy he chose to remain in San Diego, California and attended San Diego City College. Frank was employed by International Harvester in San Diego, California and since he was bilingual he would work with customers from south of the border and beyond.
He was raised by loving parents and grew up in a close knit family with two brothers and three sisters, being a protector to his youngest sister. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Raymondville, Texas where he received all his sacraments.
He prided himself by doing his own yard work, string trimming, and tree trimming.
Interment will be at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, California.
