Chester Allan Dado Yamat, born September 25th, 1983 in Manila, Philippines, passed away on November 30th, 2023 in San Diego, California. (He previously resided in Seattle, Washington.) A veteran, Chester served our country in the U.S. Navy where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, amongst many other medals and ribbons. His last duty assignment and major command was Strike Fighter Squadron 34 stationed at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Chester was a pillar of his community, a well-loved and loyal brother who was always there for anyone who needed it. If you couldn’t find him out living his best life with his friends and family, you might catch him on his second baby, his Harley. He strove to be the best version of himself, always, and brought out the best in all those around him. His laughter was contagious, and his smile was the brightest in every room.
He will be remembered as a welcoming, fun-loving, and hilarious person who absolutely lived life to the fullest. His love and joy will continue to live in all of our hearts. He will be dearly missed by his fiancé, Kassandra Nance, his daughter, Jocelyn Yamat, his parents, Elizabeth and Armando Yamat, and his siblings, Arthur and Angela Yamat. Chester's memorial service will be held on Friday, December 8th, 2023 from 9am to 2pm at the Erickson-Anderson Mortuary located at 8390 Allison Avenue, La Mesa, California 91942.
