Beth passed away peacefully in her La Mesa home. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio to Thomas and Bette Maines Chambers. She was the last of three children and was named after her Grandmothers, Anna Marie Chambers and Minnie Beth Maines.
The family eventually moved to La Mesa where she attended La Mesa Dale, La Mesa Junior High and graduated from Helix High School. Gifted with a beautiful singing voice, in her younger years she sang with various groups, including Up With People.
Beth retired from AT&T, later enjoying reunions with former coworkers. In retirement she also enjoyed trips with Wayne to Valley View, and Laughlin. She thoroughly enjoyed her Symphony dates with dear friend Kay Raines.
Her annual retreat to Laguna Beach was always a highlight. And, although ill she remained hopeful until the end that she would make her week this summer.
As a season ticket holder of the Padres for 14 years, Beth was not happy to have missed the 2014 opening games. She had traveled to Cooperstown for tony Gwynn's induction to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Since she and Tony reached the pearly gates around the same time, we hope she was able to watch his tribute by his side. Getting together with her Q Club friends was always great fun!
Beth enjoyed the support and friendship of many neighbors and friends during her lifetime. When ill the baked cookies, cards and visits, buoyed her spirits. Dr. Zu at Long Cancer Center was especially helpful and she truly wanted to be his "miracle" patient.
Beth is survived by her husband Wayne, stepdaughter Jessica, siblings Bonnie Sardo (Nick), Thomas Jay Chambers (Merideth Leygraff). She was preceded in death by her parents and stepson David.
Her memorial service will be held on July 11th at 11 A.M., at El Camino Memorial Chapel, 8390 Allison Avenue, La Mesa. Donations in her memory can be made to Sharp Grossmont Cancer Center.
