Victor Gonzalez is survived by his beautiful wife Juanita Najar Gonzalez and his obedient dogs, Camelia and Willie Gonzalez. He also left behind 2 daughters Michelle Sanchez (Marco Sauceda) and Leticia (Abel) Garza and one son Lorenzo (Jessica) Sanchez; three sisters Teresa (Rey) Silva, Rosa Gonzalez, and Geneva (Alfredo) Grijalva.
He is proceeded in death by his Father Victor Gonzalez Sr and his mother Flora Calvillo and the family dog Chelelo Gonzalez.
Victor met the love of his life during his teenage years. He had the honor to be Juanitas escort for her Quinceanera on January 25, 1969. Although they went their separate ways, fate, God brought them back together in holy matrimony on January 12, 2007. (His high school sweet heart).
Whole heartedly, Victor helped "Janie" with her children, grandchildren and great grand children. He loved them as if they WERE his own.
Football, Volleyball, Cross Country or Basketball, you name it, Victor was there. He was the kids biggest fan!!!! He also loved his beloved Chicago Bears and New York Yankees. He enjoyed working on projects around his home in La Feria. He was a spiritual man and involved in many church activities at St Frances Xavier. Victor leaves a legacy of Faith, hope and love for all who knew him personally and those who knew him only as "grandpa Victor".
He lived in Chicago for about 22 years where he worked for Sylvester Paving Company. He come back to the Rio Grande Valley to work for the City of Harlingen, Mission and then the City of Mercedes. He became a Commissioner for the City of La Feria, where he later became a Mayor.
Victor Gonzalez will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him personally... who knew his smile.
A funeral service is scheduled for Monday May 24, 2021 from 2:00PM to 9:00PM. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00PM at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Rd. La Feria Tx 78559. A Funeral Mass on Tuesday May 25, 2021 at 10:00AM at St Frances Xavier Catholic Church in La Feria TX. Burial to follow at 11:00AM at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, TX.
