Samuel "Sammy" Martinez

Samuel "Sammy" Martinez, age 72, of Weslaco, Texas passed away suddenly with his family on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Samuel was born November 19, 1949 to Eluteria Reyna and Rosendo Martinez. He was raised in La Feria, TX and migrated to Indiana where he married his wife of 53 years.

Samuel married his childhood sweetheart Janie & later celebrated his retirement from Kraft foods, Marketing Specialists and Kroger.

Samuel loved deer hunting, singing in church, was an active eucharistic minister, lector in church, and maintained his lasting faith in God.

Samuel is survived by his wife, Juanita "Janie" Martinez; his children Zelda Martinez Jauregui (Leo); Nelma A Martinez; his grandsons Samuel Jauregui (Samantha), Leo Jauregui II (Jelane), his great grandsons RJ, Samuel Dean, Caleb Alexander and Jonah Bradley. His siblings Lucio Martinez, Nancy Jimenez, Minga Silva, Ramiro Martinez, David Martinez, Diana Flores, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents Rosendo Martinez and Eluteria Reyna; his brothers Rogelio Martinez and Leonel Martinez.
