Ruben was known for his warm spirit and infectious laughter. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often seen nestled in his favorite chair, lost in the thrilling tales of classic Westerns or the adventurous worlds of Marvel movies. His love for storytelling transcended the screen, as he would often share anecdotes from his own life that left family and friends captivated.
A true connoisseur of comfort food, Ruben had an unwavering affection for Whataburger. He could often be found savoring a burger with fries in hand, relishing every bite while sharing his thoughts on the latest film he’d watched or reminiscing about cherished memories.
Ruben is survived by his loving wife Martha Balboa, his children Lucinda B. Cantu (Rodney), Ruben Balboa (Josie), and Gilbert Balboa, his grandchildren Gabriel Cantu (Monica), Priscilla Cantu, Ruben Balboa III (Samantha), Kristopher Balboa, Jacinda Balboa, Brandon Balboa and his great-grandchild Adrian Cantu, who will forever remember him as a guiding light and source of unconditional love.
