Neil was one of our water brothers and one with a most unique personality. An always cheerful and fun person to share time with. So many many memories of the fun and sometime goofy things we shared. Rest well Brother

Neil and I met when we were teenagers and remained the best of friends our whole lives. Attending Lamar High we were the originals and on the leading edge of those creating a new life style of "Surfers" on theTexas Gulf Coast.  Freedom , adventure & anything goes were  our mission.  Clocking over 100,000 + miles on surfing road trips nationwide and down South of the Border every weekend and vacation over a decade created a bond between us most people can only dream of.  So many 1sts and far out experiences punctuated the grandest time of our lives.  Saving each other from certain disasters and death defying stunts was derriger.  Once on the run he made it to Hawaii and convinced me it was where I belonged.  For sure he knew, as the Islands have been my home for 47 years !  Visiting Neil and his wonderful wife & family down in the Valley was a joy and we stayed in touch in the most magical way all the days of our lives.  The day before Neil passed over we spoke of the unique times we lived thru and I asked him if he wanted me to come see him and he said " No need Linne' ,  I got It . .  .    .      .        I Love you . ".     And he was gone but never far from my heart .     Peace Bruddah and Aloha !

I will always remember Neil.  He was Jughead and I was Betty and Glen Braden was Archie as we would pretend and cut up in Mrs. Manning's class at Lamar High School.  I remember the day Neil hopped out the classroom window and back in while Mrs. Manning was writing on the blackboard and had her back to the class.  The last time I saw Neil was in Port Isabel in the early 90's.  We met for dinner. I had "crewed" in the Veracruz race and the we were returning to Galveston and docked overnight in Pt. Isabel.  I will never forget Neil and his "offbeat" personality. Neil was one of my most special friends growing up. He marched to the beat of his own drummer. He will always be in my most fond memories.
