Maria was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to all those she knew and loved. She was married for 40 years to the love of her life Juan Silva, Jr who preceded her in death on April 20, 2020. She is now celebrating eternal life with him as well as with her son Leandro Salinas, parents Manuel and Maria Coronado, brothers Melchor and Nephtali Coronado, Sister Teresa Coronado Rodriguez, Daughter in Law Sandra Salinas and Grandson Ramiro Perez, Jr.
She spent her entire career in law enforcement. Graduating from the Peace Officer’s Academy in 1978, she worked for and retired from the City of Raymondville Police Department. She followed that with a short stint as a Truancy Officer with the Raymondville ISD and then officially retired and spent the rest of her time with her husband Juan on the Double SS Ranch in Raymondville, fishing, crafting, shopping and enjoying the one thing she truly loved which was spoiling her grandchildren. She was also a collector which was evident in all the memories she kept in her many scrapbooks from newspaper clippings, hand-written notes, drawings, cards, event programs, and the thousands of photos she developed over the years.
Maria gave her life to Jesus Christ on February 4, 2007, was an active member of LifeLine Heart of Worship church and lived trusting God with everything in her life.
She is survived by her sons Juan Salinas, Jr (Sandra†) of Sebastian, Freddy Salinas and his wife Maggie of Harlingen, Grandchildren Lee M. Salinas and Brittany Salinas (Itzel) of Sebastian, David Salinas of San Antonio, Claudia and Andrea Salinas of Harlingen, Great Grand-Daughter Alexa Garcia of Sebastian, Brothers Josue Coronado (Fita†) of Austin, Manuel Coronado (Cande) of San Antonio/Harlingen, Baltazar Coronado of Harlingen, Gaspar Coronado (Anna) of San Angelo, Sisters Esther Coronado Bustamante (Frank) of Pasadena, Magdalena Coronado Ramirez (Mario†) of Houston/Raymondville, Luciana Coronado Cavazos of Raymondville and Norma Linda Coronado Olvera of Raymondville.
