Maria Callier was born on July 2nd 1928 in Jalisco, Mexico. When she was a young girl she migrated to Matamoros where she met her husband Jack Callier of 60 years. They lived in Brownsville for a short period and later moved to Jones Creek, Texas and later lived for many years in Rockport, Texas. Maria was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She gave her everything to her children and husband. She loved gardening and nature. She was a very skilled dressmaker and enjoyed afternoons of embroidery and cross stitch. She loved cooking and feeding her family and spending summers with her grandchildren. She enjoyed afternoon tea and biscuits with her friend of many years Winifred Patterson.
Maria is survived by her daughter Janet Callier of San Antonio. Her son Leonard (Helen) Callier of Harlingen and their family, grandchildren Rick (Ashley) Callier of Los Fresnos Texas, Savanah (Floyd) Heij of Jacksonville Florida, and Madison Callier of Austin Texas and 5 great grandchildren, Lincoln and Hazel Hejl, Anna, Ava and Jack Callier .
The family would like to extend their Thanks to Weslaco Nursing and Rehabilitation and to the staff for their outstanding care they provided.
She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
A private service for Maria will be held at a later date.
