Julian was a life long of Santa Rosa, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Ofelia Rodriguez, his siblings Pedro and Raul Rodriguez.
Julian was born in Mercedes and raised in Santa Rosa, TX, a 1975 graduate of Santa Rosa High School. In his younger years, he worked as a truck driver, certified a/c repairmen, commercial kitchen repairmen, and full-filled his lifelong dream of becoming a Police Officer. He proudly served as a Police Officer in the cities of Progreso, Palm Valley, and Primera, TX.
Julian was also assistant chief at Santa Rosa Volunteer Fire Department for almost 10 years. He had a passion for playing Tejano and Country music with his classmates/music buddies. He always worked so hard and gave a helping hand when he could.
Julian leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years, Raquel Oviedo Rodriguez of Sebastian, TX, two daughters Shannon Lee (Antonio) Aguilar, Salina (Eric) Garza, four grandchildren Jaylynn Aniyah Garza, Katelynn Marie Garza, Gabriel Mikeal Aguilar, and Eric Zachariah Garza. His brothers, Juan D. Rodriguez, Rosana Wheelock, Nora Perez, Roy Rodriguez, Cristina Cravens, and Peter Rodriguez, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and life long friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday 23, 2020 from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home with prayer service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home on Thursday 24, 2020 at 10:00 AM burial to proceed to Santo Nombre.
Honored pallbearers are son in laws, Antonio Aguilar Jr, Eric Garza, nephews, Rolando Perez, Jose Rodriguez, Raul Rodriguez, Julian Rodriguez, and Adan Rodriguez.
We, Julian’s family would like to send a heart felt thank you to all of Julian’s brothers and sisters for their unconditional help and support for our Dad. Many thanks to all Harlingen Medical Staff for their care, patience and understanding.
