John Paul was an avid gun lover. He was employed at the gun counter at Bass Pro Shops, followed by the gun department at Johnny’s True Value. He was a member of Fat Boy Tactical, Valley Gun Club, and the South Texas Delta Waterfowl chapter. He loved hunting and especially fishing. John was devoted to his favorite team, the Tennessee Titans. He loved dogs and was a dog rescuer. John Paul would always brighten up any social gathering.
At the end of his time on earth John would get so happy his Tio Poli & Tio Ruben would come and visit, almost daily. He loved the awesome electric recliner that his friend brought for him when he got home from the hospital. He was honored that his friends Ray Munoz and Anthony Aguilar would cut the lawn and clean his porch, so he could enjoy the winds outside in the evening.
John Paul is survived by his wife Bianca who never left his side during all his hospitalizations, his son, Nicolas Paul, and his parents, Paul and Rosario Alvarez. He is also survived by his sister, Nicole Daniell (Jacob); his nephews, Beau Penton and Colt Stetson; Ms. Gail McKinney; and by numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Isla Sol, and his grandparents, Manuel and Lydia Alvarez, and Juan J and Caritina Flores, and numerous aunts and uncles.
As an organ donor John gave the gift of life, so others could live, that was his last wish.
