Delfina Tomasa Perez

Delfina (Tommie) was born in Mercedes, TX on March 7, 1939 to Augustina Saldana and Manuel Hernandez.

Thereafter, she spent her early childhood years in Lake Providence, Louisiana where she furthered her education and developed a passion for reading and writing, this showed in her penmanship which she loved to show off. As time passed, she met and fell in love with her beloved husband of 56 years, David Perez. She loved gardening, cruising and road-tripping, feeding the birds, sewing, reading, and passing time doing crossword puzzles, all while filling us with laughter.

Delfina loved her family dearly and the love for her was reciprocated by many both far and near. Her children along with her siblings were the light of her life and the people she cherished dearly. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend touching the lives of many. Her faith and devotion to God and the Virgin Mary opened the pearly gates to heaven where she will now watch over each and every one of us in peace. She will truly be missed and will never, ever, be forgotten.

She is survived by her brother, Renee Hernandez (Verna) of Lake Providence, Louisiana; and her children, Maria Mireles (Domingo), David Perez (Petra), Ida Gonzalez (Margarito), and Jesus Perez.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David Perez, son Manuel Perez, siblings Reynaldo (brother), Ricardo (brother), Rogelio (brother), Maria Elena (sister), and Fina (who passed away on December 25) and parents, Agustina and Manuel Hernandez.

A visitation for Delfina will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559. A funeral service will occur Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. followed by an interment at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559.
