David was born April 18, 1933 in Cuero Texas to the late Filomena Sustaita and Jose Ruiz. He worked for B&R vending in La Feria, Texas for many years and his favorite pastime was gambling, playing pool, and traveling with his beloved wife and sweetheart Graciela A. Ruiz. He was most known for his charm and great sense of humor. He always motivated everyone to work hard and live life to the fullest. David was a dear friend to all who needed him and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather to his family.
He is survived by his wife Graciela A. Ruiz of 27 years; his children, David Ruiz Jr.; Martha Boyd; Jonnie Ruiz, Anna Hill; Michael Ruiz; Anna Aganes Sierra and his step-children Anna Mendez; Simon Gutierrez; Kristen N. Ramirez; Norma Elisa Nieto Cooper and Juan Rene Nieto. He is also survived by 7 siblings, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
David is preceded in death by his late first wife Carolina Liendo Ruiz and second wife Adelina Aquines Ruiz; his son, Ray Anthony Ruiz; daughter, Fila Nava, brother, Raymond Ruiz and parents Filomena Sustaita and Jose Ruiz.
The Ruiz family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses, caregivers and staff of Harbor Hospice facility and are deeply appreciative of the care, dignity, and respect bestowed upon David in his final days. We are forever grateful.
