David Clinton Bush, 79, of Donna, TX, departed this life on Friday, August 30, 2024., He was born on June 16, 1945, in Okmulgee, OK, to the late Joseph Clinton Bush and Elizabeth (Johnston) Bush. His current wife Sharla Bush survives. His wife Willie Bush and sister Janet Sharp predeceased him.
Also surviving are two sons, Clinton Bush of Peoria, AZ; Eric Bush and wife Elizabeth of Martinsburg, WV; one daughter, Elizabeth Bush of Aurora, CO;
5 Granddaughters; two great grandchildren; one sister in law, Nancy Shannon of Donna,TX; and several nieces and nephews.
David helped Willie raise his stepchildren from the time some were still teenagers until adulthood and whom he loved very much. He continued a relationship with most of them after their mother’s death; Cathy and Kevin Koloff of Tulsa, OK; Anne and Baker al Farajat of Chicago, IL; Evelyn and David Ford of Tulsa, OK; Laura and Andy Sittler of Keller, TX; John and Zhen Foltz of Lantana, TX; and many grands and great grandchildren.
David studied drafting at Murray State College in Tishomingo, OK for 2 years and earned his certificate in drafting at Okmulgee Technical school. He retired as the manager of the engineering department that specialized in designing, manufacturing and building prefabricated structures.
His favorite pastimes were building model train layouts and NASCAR Cup racing. He also enjoyed traveling.
David was so much more than this simple, abbreviated obituary can describe. He will be missed but his family and friend are grateful he is in Jesus care now.
David attended the Disciples of Christ Christian Church in Donna, TX.
The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the wonderful caretakers and hospice team at Angel Wings and Aurora House for the care they gave David during his illness with COPD.
A Memorial Service will be at 3:30 pm, Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Disciples of Christ Christian church in Donna, TX. A Facebook publication will be available for those who can not attend the service.
Donations to the Aurora House in Weslaco, TX, in lieu of flowers is appreciated.
Interment is at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Weleetka, OK 74880.
