Our beautiful, loving, dad went home to be with our lord Jesus Christ September 15th 2022. Born on September 14, 1933 in San Marcos Texas, to Fermin Flores and Theresa Hernandez, and as an only child, Celestino our precious father would lose his mother at 2 and his father at 7. He grew a fondness for that beautiful town where the beauty of the Guadalupe river runs thru. But he’d eventually grow up in Harlingen Texas, and while working his route one day he’d find the love of his life Petra Gonzalez. The two lovebirds would marry but not before serving his country proudly first and so he joined the army.
Letters across the shores between the two in those years soon brought him home to build a life with his beautiful wife Petra. He worked hard everyday, and taught his four children his pride and joy that nothing came easy without hard work, and he always said you “never quit”. He would become a father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He’d teach the generations to come that followed the same values he grew up believing in and practicing all his life, Love of God, Love of Family, Love of Country, and love of football. He was was your biggest fan, always used encouraging words, give you his last shirt off his back and always loved helping others. He loved long conversations especially about the good ol days, like our summer trips spent in his stomping grounds at Rio Vista Farms in San Antonio Texas. Those were his fondest memories sharing times with his family. He loved attending church even took part as a deacon for many years and loved every bit of it. He loved meeting people and could make friends for a lifetime in an instant. Our dad was so amazing we were blessed beyond belief to have the most gentle, caring kind and giving man. He taught us so many wonderful things and lived by example. But most all our dad was a humble man, and cared so much for his family. He leaves behind our broken hearts, and ones that will miss him everyday.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years Petra Flores, his children son Eloy Flores(Arely), son Fermin Flores(Ida), daughter Susan Flores, and son Gilbert Flores(Tricia). Grandchildren Eloy Flores Jr.(Bekah) Cassian Flores(Perla)
Christopher Flores(Katy), Nathan Flores, Canaan Flores, Anastacie Flores, Amberly Flores, Caleb Flores, and Christian Flores. Great grandchildren Eli Flores, Leo Flores, Noah Flores, and Daniel Flores. And countless loving and amazing extended family members whom he loved with all his heart.
