On February 28, 2021, Angela Marie Crabtree Purcell from La Feria Texas passed away in her sleep. Early Sunday morning while vacationing in Cancun Mexico she suffered a fatal rupture in her chest due to damage caused by previous cancer treatments. She goes now to her eternal resting place with God in paradise.
Angela lived every day to its fullest, giving of her time, her talents, her love, and her strength. She was born in La Grange Texas on October 19th 1975. Growing up in Flatonia TX, she excelled in everything she set her mind to. After moving to Corpus Christi TX Angela met and married the love of her life on May 6th 2000. They built their beautiful life together in La Feria TX. Soon after their only daughter was born on December 19th 2000. In 2016 Angela was diagnosed with Stage 4 Triple Negative Breast Cancer and after one hard fought year had killed all evidence of disease. In life she was an artist, photographer, actress, singer, runner, boxer, hunting guide, outdoorsman and entrepreneur. For 19 years Angela has owned a Spirit Halloween Franchise in the South Texas area. As a hands on, hard working leader and under direct operation of her and her partners the franchise has grown from one store in 2002 to nineteen stores in 2020. She has received numerous awards throughout her life including the HMFIC Award. In recent years she has embarked on a new business venture in Corpus Christi; Blow Dry Therapy. She gave all of herself in everything she did.
Angela has spent her life devoted to numerous charities, giving to children's homes, the Catholic Church, Pink Divas, and Challenged Sportsmen of America. For 15 years she has been dedicated to the charity known as Spirit Of Children, an organization that raises money for the Child Life Department in Children's Hospitals across the country. She was very active in her Church involved in several ministries including the church choir.
Angela gave her love freely and abundantly. She has touched so many lives in her short time here.
Angela is survived by her husband of twenty years Greg Purcell, daughter Whitney, parents David and Mary Crabtree, siblings Amanda (James) Fox, William (Ashley) Crabtree, Sebrena Valadez, Tommie Lynn Crabtree, Doug (Jane) Purcell, and Liz (John) Murray. Angela is preceded in death by her brother Gregory Crabtree, Danny Purcell, Dan Purcell and Barbara Purcell. She has left behind numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, extended family, adopted family; too many to count. You know who you are.
Angela’s life will be celebrated beginning with a Visitation Friday March 5th 2021 from 4pm to 7pm followed by a Rosary at 7pm at the Heavenly Grace Funeral home on White Ranch Rd. in La Feria, TX. The funeral will be at 11am on Saturday March 6th 2021 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Mercedes Tx with a burial service to follow.
