I was blessed beyond measure and grateful to have had Sandy (Tutu) as my bonus mom for the past 31 years. I will never forget Sandy and Galen’s support of Samantha and myself and their unconditional love for us. They treated Cameron and Aubrey as their own grandchildren and my family as their own. She always said, “you are our daughter”. The visits to California for our special occasions, the shopping trips, the phone calls, evenings on the lanai listening to Hawaiian music, Sam dancing for Tutu and Bumpa, and so many more memories we made over the years will be forever in my heart. I could go on and on, there are so many! Sam said it best, I could post 500 pictures and it wouldn’t represent all the memories that exist. The picture I shared here is special. In 2010 she took me to get my first tattoo and when it was done, she told the tattoo artist, “I’m getting the same one too”, and surprised me. We had matching tattoos! Sam and I were able to be there 4 years ago before Galen passed away to say goodbye. Sam, Aubrey, and I were able to spend a week with Sandy last summer and we are so thankful. I will love and miss Sandy and Galen always. ❤️

Extremely sad to hear the news. 

We were extremely lucky to have met Sandy in late 2020. She welcomed us to the area and graciously had us over a few times to chat on her patio. We enjoyed hearing about her life (how much she truly LOVED Kauai) and traded stories about home repairs. 

A very hospitable and funny lady, we will always be thankful to have met Sandy.

Hi, It's me again...Staci:)  Todd I remember the times we would play Atari!  Remember the game where we would have to go through the rooms and find the dragon or the key??  That was so fun and space invaders, pac man and so on!  We always had great dinners at your house and lots of laughter!  I remember the Thanksgiving at the cabin with all the family,  the Thanksgiving in Hawaii and I'll never forget the Senior Trip they provided for me in Hawaii with you. Do you remember that we got to scuba dive in the ocean and all the amazing things we saw?  That was the one and only time I ever got to do that and it was incredible. One other thing I wanted to tell you that you may not know.  My goal after high school was to go to BYU Provo, but I received a full tuition scholarship to SUSC and decided to go there instead and eventually get myself to BYU. To get enough money for that, I moved to California to work because there was higher pay there.  I lived with D'ana and worked two jobs to earn enough for my tuition, then moved to Provo in the fall to start my dream of going to school there.  I guess your mom and dad noticed how hard I had worked and sent me $1,500 to help with tuition for the next semester, which I will never forget. That helped me so much...They would also just sometimes send  money randomly here and there when I was in college, which was crazy because it would seem to come at times where I was really low on funds. They were very generous people and I will never forget their kindness.  My only wish is that over the years, we would have stayed in better contact. It seems that something happened with Sandy and my mom, which I have no idea what it was, and after that we lost contact.  I remember sending them Christmas Cards  though still for a little bit as my family was growing,  and they would always respond that I had a beautiful family. Your parents were always very gracious to me and for that I will always be grateful. I will always love my Aunt Sandy...

I have many fond memories of spending time in the summers at "Aunt Sandy's" house.  I remember the first home you had in Mountain View, where we would swim with you and our parents would sit around the pool and laugh and talk while we had a great time. Aunt Sandy was ALWAYS so kind to me, and she made me feel like I was important to her, even though I was just her niece. I always felt at home in your place and especially remember your next house in Cupertino up on the mountatin that we would wind around to get to. That is where I have most of my fondest memories with your family.  Your mom would always take D'ana and I out to go school shopping and that was such a treat for us.  We did not have alot of money growing up in Utah, as our Dad was a school teacher and my stepmom stayed home to take care of the kids, so getting to go on this shopping trip each summer, and actually get more than just one outfit, was such a treat for me. I remember I would ask your mom, "Are you sure it's ok for me to get this other outift as well, " and she would just smile and say of course. You can get whatever you'd like.  I was still generally conservative on the amount because I'd still feel kind of bad, but she made a point to NOT make me feel bad.  I always wondered  why she would take us shopping and I asked her one time and she said that since she never had any girls, it was just fun for her to be able to take us shopping and see the expression on our faces and see us so happy. Girls must like to shop for clothes a little more than boys (LOL) and your mom liked to shop:) I remember all the times around the pool at your Cupertino mountain home, and how absolutely fun that was for me and D'ana. Your mom and dad were always very gracious hosts, and although you were shy, I felt that you enjoyed when we would come visit and play together. I have more I want to say, so I am going to write another memory!  Thank you  for letting us do this. It has been great for me to "remember."
