Kevin Michael Jones, of Hanamaʻulu, HI, passed away unexpectedly on Easter Sunday April 09, 2023. He was only 59 years old.
Our family is heartbroken by this loss. Kevin was born August 04, 1963 in Quincy, MA to parents Willis “Gary” & Margaret “Peggy” T. Jones (nee Quirk). He was predeceased by his grandparents Francis and Galdys Quirk, parents, numerous uncles, and cousins. Kevin is survived by three brothers: Paul G. Jones (Kimberly) of Taunton, MA, Thomas C. Jones of Maui, HI, David M. Jones of Middleboro, MA and one sister, Kelli A. Jones (Kalama Gonsalves) of Kapaʻa, HI.
Kevin enjoyed many fond memories of growing up in South Boston and Whitman, MA. He humbly served as an altar boy at Whitmanʻs Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Throughout his life, Kevin held an unwavering faith in God which he openly shared with those blessed to know him. He was known best for reliably sending daily messages of hope, optimism and pictures of Godʻs beauty to those he loved; he and these will be sorely missed.
Kevin also enjoyed playing goalie in the town’s street hockey league, which is where he discovered his love of athletics and fitness. He was an avid fitness guru and passionate about health and nutrition. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish a successful Consulting business on Kauai. Owning his own company gave Kevin a great amount of joy and was something he worked hard at each day. Over his lifetime, Kevin competed in numerous ADFPA powerlifting meets and sanctioned bodybuilding competitions earning numerous trophies and awards.
By the time Kevin was 18, he had mastered skills in carpentry and woodworking. On his 18th birthday, Kevin eagerly enlisted in the Army and became a paratrooper for the 82nd Airborne Division stationed in Fort Bragg, NC. The rigorous discipline and regimented lifestyle learned while proudly serving his country was evidenced throughout Kevinʻs lifetime. Kevin incorporated these qualities nicely into his chosen career as a Nutrition/Fitness Consultant and Personal Trainer with many pleased and grateful clients. His hobbies (while not working) included woodworking, beachcombing, and spending time with Ohana.
He leaves behind his loving partner Juliet Ruiz along with her three boys Bryan, DJ, and Justin. They shared nearly 10 years together on the island of Kauai, making many friends, enjoying their community, and traveling to neighbor islands and Las Vegas.
Kevin also leaves behind one son and two daughters: Andrew Jones and Christina (nee Jones) Geiselhart (Nick) of Illinois, and daughter Bryanna (nee Jones) Truehart (Alex) of Middleboro, MA and countless nieces and nephews. In recent years, despite the distance, technological advances allowed for Kevin to enjoy time with his four grandchildren whom he adored: Kaylee and Makenna Geiselhart of IL, and Ava and Isabelle Truehart of MA.
Services will be held on the island of Kauai May12th, 2023 at The Immaculate Conception Church 4453 Kapaia Rd, Lihue, HI 96766 followed by a burial in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden, Massachusetts at a later date.
