Wilma Virginia “Ginny” Sears, 92, Kokomo, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014, at her home. She was born December 25, 1921, in Kokomo, to Frank and Edna (Etchison) Beaman. On November 3, 1941, she married Francis Sears, and he preceded her in death on January 29, 1975.
She worked at Delco Electronics for 22 years, retiring in 1986. She loved her flowers and going shopping and cherished her grandchildren. She was a loyal supporter of We Care. She was a member of the Eagles, Local UAW 292, and the Senior Citizen Center.
She is survived by two sons, Mike Sears and his wife Sue, Niangua, Missouri, and Patrick Sears and his special friend Lisa Sadler, Memphis, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Jennifer Russell and her husband Ben, Marshfield, Missouri, Stephen Sears, Urbana, Illinois, and Annie Doty and her husband Joey, Albertville, Alabama; five great-grandchildren, Hannah, Isabella, Jayson, Liann, and Mark-Anthony; brother, Richard Beaman and his wife Lydia, Springfield, Illinois; and several cousins.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Frank Beaman Jr. and his wife Valeta.
The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to We Care through the funeral home.
