William “Bill” Wiley Mann, 89, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away September 8, 2024. He was born on August 15, 1935 in Kokomo, Indiana the son of Lester and Eva Mann (Cash). On February 6, 1960 he married Katharine Mann (Canard) who survives.
Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served his active duty time in Germany. His U.S. Army experience remained a treasured memory for him throughout his life. He retired from Haynes International after 40 years of service. Bill enjoyed coaching Little League and playing softball and basketball. Visitors to his home would often be compelled to play pitch and catch with him--He wasn’t one to “sit around” and chat much.
Above all, Bill shared his love for Jesus with fellow members of the Courtland Avenue Church of Christ for over 60 years. His gentle encouragement to others and his constantly pleasant attitude helped unnumbered folks through their struggles. His smile was ever-present and infectious.
He will be remembered as a loving and supportive father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Bill is survived by his wife, Katharine Mann of Kokomo, IN; two sons, David Mann (Susan) of Brownsburg, IN. Don Mann (Mary) of Kokomo. IN; grandchildren, Alex Mann, Katharyn Mann, Valerie Mann; and William Mann (Melissa), great grandchildren, Aria Becraft and Abel James Peace.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM 3:00 PM Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home.
