On June 24, 1960, she married the love of her life, Jerry Smith and they had two children, Manda and Michael. Wanda and Jerry were always smiling, laughing, and cherishing each moment they had together. They enjoyed camping across the Midwest, frequenting their favorite breakfast spots, setting up their booth at craft shows and spending time at home talking for hours with their family and friends.
Wanda loved being with her family and was an amazing wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing with her daughter and always created the perfect costumes for her granddaughters as well as crochet the best house slippers you could ever own. She was also a very skilled hair braider and would host her granddaughters and their friends many mornings before school for breakfast and french braids. She was a fan of music, and you would catch her singing and dancing around the house. If she wasn’t beating you in a game of Yahtzee, she was making you the best chicken noodle dish you have ever eaten. Wanda was a constant joy to be around, amazing listener and she never met a stranger; you always felt her warmth and it would instantly bring a smile to your face.
Wanda is survived by her daughter Manda Rayle, of Kokomo, Indiana; brother, Jack Hodson, of Russiaville, Indiana; sister, Barbara Rainey, of Frankfort, Indiana; grandchildren, Kayla (Chad) Holajter, of Evergreen, Colorado, Amber (Chris) Edberg, of Chicago, Illinois, Ashlee Smith, of Garrison, Texas, Christina Hollenback, of Garrison, Texas, and Jennifer (Eric) Naumann, of San Jose, California; great-grandchildren, Kendall, Charlotte, Coralynn and Kambree Holajter, of Evergreen, Colorado and Amelia and Luke Edberg, of Chicago, Illinois; and several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and friends.
Wanda has been reunited with her husband Jerry; son Michael Smith; her parents; two brothers, Wayne Hodson and Bill Hodson; and two sisters Glenda Smith and Deanna White.
