Walter T. McGrath, Jr., 82, Kokomo, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at North Woods Commons. He was born April 8, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, to Walter T. and Marie Zeter McGrath, Sr. On July 17, 1954, he married Antoinette Cale, and she preceded him in death on June 29, 2012.
He graduated from CVS Tech School and was a skilled electrotyper for Cuneo Press, which relocated him to Kokomo, and he eventually worked for Haynes International where he retired from in 1993. He was a Korean War Veteran and a member of St. Joan of Arc and a proud union worker.
He is survived by daughters, Rosie (Kelly) Dollahite, Cathy (Rick) Cabeen, DeeDee (Wes) Breedlove, and Chris (Steve) Wampler; five grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; one sister, Pat Bell; several nieces and nephews; and Godchildren, whom he loved very much.
In addition to his wife, Antoinette McGrath, he was preceded in death by his parents; beloved grandson, Zac Dollahite; little brother, Richie McGrath; sister, Laverne Skrobuton; and brother, Billy McGrath.
There will be a Mass of Christian burial at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3155 S. 200 W. Kokomo, 46902, with Father Mike McKinley presiding. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. Monday at the church. Messages of condolence may be expressed online at www.sunsetmemorygarden.com.
