Stephen Kent Tate

Stephen Kent Tate, age 74, of Galveston, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023. He was born December 20, 1948 to Orville and Marcella (Layton) Tate in Kokomo, Indiana. He liked hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a truck driver by trade, and enjoyed taking impromptu trips. He and his wife, Emma, loved to travel, visiting Las Vegas at least twice a year. He loved music and was a fantastic dancer. He was a jokester, who loved his Lord and his family. He will be remembered for his wonderful humor and fun-loving nature. Stephen is survived by his wife Emma Collins; his children, Kimberly (Chad) Baker and Gregory (Cheridan) Tate; step-children, Billy Collins, Jacqueline Vore and Jeana Watson; grandchildren, Kyle Collins, Cale Collins, Amber collins, Jake Collins, Corey Vore, Dusty Vore, Bonna Vore, Shaina Brock, Andrew Brock, Raeellen Thompson, Cody Baker, Danny Tate, Erika Tate, Carson Fording, Meranda Tate, Brandi Shuck, Cameron Shuck, Madison Bergin, Josh Bergin, Spencer Tate, Kiersten Tate, and Michael Dodd; close nephew, Darrin Tate and grandnieces, Abby Tate and Chloe Tate; and 35 great-grandchildren and many friends. Stephen served his country with honor in United States Army and a Vietnam veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, a grandchild and 2 great-grandchildren. A graveside service with Military Honors will be Monday March 6, 2023 11:00am at Albright Cemetery 3910 Albright road, Kokomo.
