Sherman Thompson

After attending Kokomo High School Sherman enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he met and married his wife Barbara (Hollar) Thompson. He proudly served his country in the Korean War where he was wounded earning him a Purple Heart. Sherman retired from Delco Electronics, was a member of VFW Post 1152 and Marine Corps League.

Sherman is survived by his son Michael (Ruth) Thompson Sr.; daughter Shari (Lee) Monroe; brother Raymond (Carol) Thompson; grandson Michael Thompson Jr.; granddaughters Jessica Papai, Lindsey Edens, Chelsea Parham; great grandchildren Bailey, Lucy, Evelyn, Raegan & Jason Jr.

Sherman was preceded in death by his wife Barbara; his parents David Jr. & Regina and nephew Mark Thompson.

A memorial service for Sherman will be Thursday September 1, 2022 1:00pm at Ellers Mortuary 3400 S. Webster Street Kokomo, IN 46902 with a gathering of friends from 11:00am until time of service. Pastor Terry Russell will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Kokomo with Military Rites.
