Norman Michael Brewer

Norman Michael "Mike" Brewer, 73, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away April 9, 2025. He was born on January 16, 1952 in Kokomo, IN the son of Donald, Shirley (Silvey) Thatcher and the late Norman H. Brewer. Mike graduated from Haworth High School in 1970 while working at Golightly's. He also worked at Cuneo Press, Best Buy, and Burger Dairy where he met the love of his life, Tammy Kinder; where together they ran Tinder Mini-Storage. He was very proud of the construction work that he did in Texas and his work as a County Polling Supervisor in Howard County.

Mike was a classic rock enthusiast and played guitar for the band Midnight Riders/Accidental Happening in high school and beyond. He enjoyed exploring his Native American heritage, Formula 1 Racing, collecting various items and could remember dates and facts that many didn't know. Mike found a passion for helping his uncle, Ernie build furniture. He treasured spending time with his family and extended family and was deeply loved by all. He was rarely seen without a Stetson and his cowboy boots or his Chuck Taylor's. Mike was an amazing cook and was a sous chef at the Weston in Indianapolis. Later in life he found great joy in assisting in the care of his beloved mother, Shirley.

Left to cherish his memory is the love of his life for 47 years, Tammy; dogs, Parker and Bo; parents, Don and Shirley; daughter, Liz (Gavin) Stetler; Papi to his grandson, Ethan and granddaughter, Emma; sister, Connie Rice; nephew, Nicholas Beamer; niece, Amanda (Bill) McQuinn; niece, Stevee Tinder; great nieces and nephews and 1 on the way; special relationship with his cousin, Pam Neff; and many other relatives and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Norman; grandparents, Liston and Stella Silvey, Dock and Elizabeth Brewer; sister, Debra Brewer; In-laws, Barbara (Bud) Tinder; brother-in-law, Willie (Tammy) Tinder; Uncle, Ernie Baker and aunt, Louise Baker.

Visitation will take place from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Friday, April 18, 2025 at Ellers Mortuary & Cremation Center. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM Friday, April 18, 2025 at Ellers Mortuary & Cremation Center 3400 S. Webster Street Kokomo, Indiana 46902.
