Melvin James Harth, 80, Kokomo, Indiana passed away on December 19, 2021 surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was born on August 16, 1941 in Lafayette, Indiana the son of Ralph and Ruth (Marron) Harth. On September 24, 1960 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lafayette, IN he married Mary Ann Harth (Smith) who survives.
Melvin was a 1959 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Lafayette, IN. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served from 1961 until 1965. After 35 years of service, Melvin retired in 2000 from Chrysler in Kokomo, IN. Melvin was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and let's not forget the Indiana Hoosiers. He enjoyed being around others and never met a stranger. When asked how he was doing, he always answered, "Not very good" and everyone would laugh as Melvin enjoyed joking around.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Mary Ann Harth of Kokomo, IN; three daughters, Jacinda "Cyndi" Mahon (fiance, Bert Shearer); Debra "Deb" Mund; Melissa "Missy" Williams (Partner, Jacki Allen) all of Kokomo, IN; six grandchildren, Wes Beckom (Courtney); Cassie Davin (Kevin); Dillon Mund (Taylor); Kayela Riley (Shayne); Justice Williams; Jace Bryant; four great grandchildren, Lyla and Lyndin Davin; Corrigan and Carringtyn Beckom and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Norma Patterson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday, December 23, 2021 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church 3155 County Road South 200 West, Kokomo, IN 46902. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery in Kokomo. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, IN and from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the church on Thursday.
