Lowell “Dean” Strunk, 75, Peru, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at his home. He was born March 26, 1935, in Williamsburg, Kentucky, to Leslie E. and Hettie (Woods) Strunk. On July 1, 1954, he married Mary E. Strunk, and she preceded him in death on July 14, 2001.
He lived in Kokomo from the age of 18 and retired from Delco Electronics after 35 years of service. He shot archery for many years and loved to fish and hunt. He was known to many as “KY”.
Survivors include his daughter, Debbie Morris; granddaughters, Kayla Morris, and Holly (Wayne) Stapleton; great-grandchildren, Jaylin Morris, and Zachery Stapleton, all of Peru, Jenny Spane, and Matt Spane, Kokomo; sister, Faye (Joe) Broerman, Kokomo; and brothers, Jim and Les Strunk, Kokomo, Bill Strunk, Lafayette, Carl Strunk, Nashville, Tennessee, and Bob Strunk, London, Kentucky.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathy Strunk; and brother, Denny Strunk.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, Kokomo. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, Kokomo. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be made at www.sunsetmemorygarden.com.
