He was born to the late King S. Davis Sr. and Mamie (Simmons) Davis on June 3, 1939 in Kennett Missouri,
but was raised in Ocee Florida. King and his wife Redith Davona (Pruitt), married April 29, 1967
and lived in Kokomo Indiana where they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. His wife still survives.
King was employed with Swartwout on Toby Pike for several years and later employed with Emerson Engineering in
Indianapolis as a Group Leader, retiring from there after 24 years.
He was a member of Center Grove Separate Baptist Church where he was a former superintendent.
King was an outdoors man, he loved being outside and doing yardwork or just doodling around with something.
He enjoyed fishing and always looked forward to deer hunting season. King was a very hard worker.
He was the best father, grandfather and a very special husband. There was no one like him and he will be missed dearly.
King is survived by his wife Davona Davis, daughter; Melissa Long and son-in-law Timothy Long, daughter; Tona Fouch and
three sons in Florida, five sisters; Laurabell, Mozella, Monette, Volene, and Kathleen,
grandchildren; Lance, Kiana, Chad, Elizabeth, Tisha, Bradley, Lawanna and her companion Jerry Sharp,
great-grandchildren; Avrial, Alex, Dylan, Breana, Sienna, Harper, Jason, several nieces, nephews, and a special sister-in-law; Helen Davis.
King was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, three sisters, and a son Michael Davis.
Funeral Services for King will be Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 1p.m. at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home,
2097 W. Alto Road in Kokomo with Pastor James Sharber officiating.
Visiting hours will be from 3p.m. to 7p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017.
Entombment will follow, as we will go in procession by Kings home, and back to Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
