Karla Marie Cole

Karla Marie Cole, 60, Kokomo (formerly of Mattoon, IL) passed peacefully at her residence on December 8th, 2017. Karla was born on July 1st, 1957 in Mattoon, IL to Richard D. and Joanna M. (Schagemann) Elliott. She is survived by her mother Joanna, Mattoon, IL, son Adam (Trista) Cole, Edmond, OK, brother Richard D. (Janice) Elliott Jr., Springfield, MO, sister Monica (Timothy Broschat) Elliott, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, grandchildren Aubrey, Jarrett, and Emery Cole. Karla is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Karla graduated from Windsor High School in 1975 and went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Springfield in 1984 and in 1995 received her M.B.A from Indiana Wesleyan University. She enjoyed her family travels that included Edmond, OK and Florida but her greatest passion in life was her grandchildren and spending as much time with them as possible. She was preceded in death by her father Richard D. Elliott Sr. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Vincent Hospice for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Karla’s honor may be made to Breast Cancer Research Foundation (60 E 56th St. Floor 8, New York, NY 10022).
