Julie went home to be with Jesus on April 1, 2017 at 6:34 p.m. at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Huntsville, Alabama on June 13, 1934, a daughter of John and Eler Phillips, deceased.
She met the love of her life, Jack Keiser, and they were married on May 30, 1953 in Huntsville, Alabama. They were together until God called her home.
Julie was a realtor until she retired. She was very active in her profession. She was president of the board of Women Realtors twice. She was awarded salesman of the year and was extremely proud to have been chosen by her fellow realtors as realtor of the year in 1991.
Julie was also active in her community. She served two terms as president of the board for the YWCA, and also served as secretary for the Drug Abuse Council for Howard County. She served on the local board for the United Way of Howard County, and then on the board of directors for United Way. She served for over 10 years as secretary for missions at her church, First Assembly of God.
Julie and Jack have three daughters, Pam (Mark) Fitch, Cheryl (Dave) Walker, and Jana Brookshire (Scott) Norman; 5 grandchildren Stacey (Craig) Jackson, Austin Morgan (Deceased) and Jenn Morgan, Calvin (Jordan) Fitch, Hailey Rice, and Blake Brookshire; step-grandchildren Brittney (Shawn) Miller and Trevor (Lexie) Brookshire, Gage and Jenna Lidy; 3 great-grandchildren Mason Morgan, Landon and Owen Jackson; two sisters June (Maurice) Bruinsma, Jackie (Terry) Morgan; 1 brother Johnny Phillips (deceased) lots of nieces and nephews, plus a special little girl who called her “Grandmommy,” Taylor Kennedy; two special boys she loved Tyler and Trevor Emerick; her two little blonde-haired boys Jensen and Jared Roseberry, Lauran Walker; also two dear friends, Judy Farrington and Annie Emerick; and a host of many others who will miss her dearly.
Friends and family may call from 9:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Brian Hughes. Julie will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens.
