Joyce Ann Roper

Joyce Ann Roper, 81, of Kokomo, went home to be with Jesus, on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at her residence. She was born on March 3, 1937 in Kokomo to the late Merrill and Irene (Powell) Wilson. She married Thomas E. Roper Jr. on September 8, 2015 in Kokomo, and he survives.

Joyce was a consultant for Avon for many years in the Kokomo community. She was formerly affiliated with First Assembly of God, St. Patrick Catholic Church, and Four Square Gospel Church, where she served as an altar worker. Most recently, she was a member of Greater Mount Olive Temple. Joyce was a nature-lover and enjoyed watching birds and hiking. She also enjoyed attending festivals and fairs. Joyce was a highly-spiritual individual who loved helping people.

Surviving is her loving husband, Thomas E. Roper Jr.; her brother, Roger M. Wilson; and many cousins.

Preceding her in death are her parents; and others.

There will be a time of visitation for Joyce on Monday, October 8, 2018, from 10am until 12pm at Greater Mount Olive Temple, 600 East Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. The funeral service will be at 12pm, also Monday, at the church, where District Elder David R. Carter Sr. is the Pastor, and Elder Gower J. Vincent will be officiating. There will be a burial at Crown Point Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Joyce's memory to her church, Greater Mount Olive Temple or to Jimmy Swaggart Ministries Outreach Bibles for Third World Pastors, envelopes will be provided at the church.
