KOKOMO- John L. Ring 91 passed away Friday afternoon at the Wellbrook assisted living. He was born in Cave City Arkansas to Lindsey and Callie (Pinkston) Ring. After finishing school he joined the United States Navy where he served on the USS Pocomoke during WWII. John would later meet Ruth Ann Taylor which would become the love of his life and they married December 23, 1950.
John had worked for Haynes International until his retirement. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club he liked to go fishing, house boating and traveling all over especially to Navy reunions which were all over the United States but his greatest love of all was his family and grandchildren. He is survived by son John (Elise) Ring, daughter Pam (Chris) Markiewicz, grandchildren, Craig(Stacey)Ring, John A.(Abby)Ring, Erin (Chad) Kock, Kathleen Markiewicz and fiancé Joe King, Chris D. Markiewicz, great-grandchildren Andrew, Aiden, Austin, Alex Ring, Jaxon, John O. Ring and Hayden, Kiyah Kock, brother and sisters Iva, Betty, Dewey and Sue.
He was preceded in death by parents, spouse Ruth Ann, brothers and sisters K.P., Oal, Mona, Clifton, Lanelle, Colleen, Gladys and Virgil. A gathering of friends and family will be Saturday October 22, 2016 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home 2097 West Alto Road Kokomo IN. 46902 with a funeral service immediately starting at 3:00pm at the funeral home with Pastor Lehman Hale officiating. Entombment will be at a later date in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
