Ray had served in the military, then spent several years living in Seattle, before relocating to Port Charlotte for his final years. His favorite hobbies included fishing, watching football, taking road trips, and studying the Civil War. He was also an avid fan of the Seattle Seahawks and the Indianapolis Colts.
He wore his signature hat every time he went out, and often joked that he couldn’t go anywhere without it because nobody would know who he was. Ray was always positive, even when he was being a grumpy “Old Fart.” He was loved by many and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Ray is survived by his three daughters, Pam – Florida, Vicky – Indiana, and Nancy – Indiana; four granddaughters, eleven great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren, with another one expected this year.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his siblings, granddaughter, and best friend.
There will be a public showing for Ray on Saturday, April 6th from 11 a.m. to noon. Ray will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery at a later date.
