John Edward Myers Sr.

John Edward Myers Sr., 83, of Kokomo, passed away at 7:00am on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Community Howard Regional Health. He was born on March 5, 1934, in Kokomo to the late William Edward Myers and Neva Gladys (James) Myers. John married Lucy (Welcher) Myers on May 11, 1952 and she preceded him in death on April 3, 2015.

John worked on a farm most of his life. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and spending time with his family. He loved nature and enjoyed bird-watching.

Surviving are his two sons, John Edward Myers and Richard (Glenice) Myers; two daughters, Brenda (George) Percifield and Lucinda Spencer; ten grandchildren, Brad, Karen, Kristen, Andy, Heather, Richie, Trent, Allen, Kyle, and Patrick; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joe (Drenda) Myers, Jerry (Vicky) Myers, and Wayne (Eveleen) Myers; three sisters, Sarah Murry, Marie Glunt, and Lora Melton; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded him in death was his loving wife of 62 years, Lucy; his parents; three brothers, Warren Myers, Bill Myers, and Willard Myers; three sisters, Neva Slusher, Mary Shepard, and Dorothy Staley.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
