John McKinney, 68, Converse, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Marion General Hospital. He was born April 23, 1943, in Kokomo, to Claude and Martha Lenora (Phipps) McKinney. On June 29, 1963, he married Millie Hall, and she survives.
He had worked at Southern Strip Steel in Peru.
In addition to his wife, Millie McKinney, he is survived by two sons, John Wayne (Regina) McKinney, Kokomo, and James Richard McKinney, Kokomo; two daughters, Marilyn (Jeff) Goff, Converse, and Barbara (Mike) Yoke, Kokomo; nine grandchildren, Amanda (Dustin) Patton, Marina Bradley, Zachary Yoke, Daria Yoke, Deshea Goff, Stacey Goff, Sierra Yoke, Amanda Bagwell, and Josh Bagwell; one great-grandchild, Cienna Patton; two brothers, Don (Helen) McKinney, Kokomo, and Raymond (Marcella) McKinney, Kokomo; and three sisters, Mary Ann (Roger) Wisehart, Kokomo, Martha (Emmett) Weber, and Florence (Steve) Talley, Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Eugene McKinney, and Danny Sullivan; and six sisters, Barbara Joan McKinney, Sharon (Miron) Callaway, Velma (Tom) Cleary, Claudette Curtz, Janet (Eugene) Burns, and Juanita Bristow.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
