James Edward Umbarger, age 84, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Howard Community Hospital after an illness of several months. He was born March 5, 1941 in Walton, Indiana, the son of Kenneth and Donne (Merrick) Umbarger. He was a resident of Cass and Howard Counties all his life. Jim served two years in the Army and retired as a Millwright from Chrysler after 34 years.
Surviving are his ex-wife, Midge Dennis; daughter, Shannon (Matt) Dowden; brother, Jack Umbarger; and granddaughters, Katelyn Dowden and Molly Dowden; nieces and nephews, Kent Umbarger, Janice Lefebvre, Joyce Burk, Cinda Smith, Jeffery Burk, Katy Burk, Meredith Burk, Hannah Umbarger, Mary Umbarger, and Audrey Lefebvre; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Sherry.
