Helen Jane Hensley

Helen Jane Hensley, 72, passed away on January 9, 2018 at her home and with family by her side. Helen was born to Herbert and Mary Witham on August 11, 1945 in Albany, Kentucky. She was a graduate of Lewisville High School, class of 1963. Helen married her husband of 49 years, Jack Hensley, on April 24, 1964. He preceded her in passing on June 3, 2013.

Helen spent her life caring for her family. She was a friend and a mother to her children. She loved to cook and clean. She and Jack watched IU basketball, and went to baseball games with the family. They spent lots of time outside, working in the yard. Helen really loved going shopping for purses and shoes. She was a member of Brookside Free Methodist Church since 1986, and read her Bible every day. In her later years, Helen liked word search puzzles, Wheel of Fortune, and Dancing with the Stars. She loved spending time at home with her family and grandchildren. Helen was a saint and will truly be missed.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Tina Hensley; son Todd (Misty Muse) Hensley; 10 siblings; grandchildren Adrian Roark, Julian Roark, Torri (Aaron) Jeske, Nevin Hensley, Ari Hendricks, and Tommi Hensley; and one great-grandson, Ronan Roark.

Helen is preceded in passing by her husband, Jack Hensley; her parents; and one brother.

Family will receive friends from 5:00PM to 9:00PM on Saturday, January 13 and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Brookside Free Methodist Church, 190 East 400 South Kokomo, Indiana 46902. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Doug Benham. Helen will be laid to rest at Lewisville Cemetery.
