George William Edwards

George William “Bill” Edwards, 68, of Springport, Indiana passed away at 12:05 PM Friday September 29, 2017 at his residence. Born June 7, 1949 in Kokomo, he was the son of the late Eirmal Edwards and Margarette (Daughty). He was a veteran serving in the United States Navy. In 1980 he married Mary Frances (Dodd). She preceded him in death in 2014. He was an electrician for Continental Steel for 20 years, then was employed with Slater Steel in Fort Wayne until his retirement. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and hunting. He was also a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include three sons Todd Ferren of Springport, James Edwards and Paul Edwards, both of Tipton; three daughters Michelle Edwards-Hubbard of Wabash, Tanya (Bill) Krintz of Springport, Melissa Edwards of Tipton; two brothers Chuck Edwards and Jim Edwards, both of Kokomo; one sister Jackie Mae (George) Plank of Kokomo. There are also nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son John Edwards, one sister Susie Brumley.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Friday, October 6, 2017 at Crown Point Cemetery, 1101 East Sycamore Street, Kokomo. Pastor Steve Arnett will officiate. Burial will follow. There will be no public visitation.
