Donald James Magill, 93, Kokomo, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Sterling House. He was born August 27, 1921, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, to Howard Clark and Cora (Anderson) Magill. He married Evelyn M. Magill, and she preceded him in death on February 16, 2009.
He served in the United States Army in the 82nd Paratroopers, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He worked at NCR as the computer service manager. He was an avid coin collector and enjoyed watching westerns and the Colts. He was a member of the VFW, the Moose, the Eagles, and the American Legion.
He is survived by three daughters, Connie (Bill) Sholty, and Deborah Howey, all of Kokomo, and Cody (Russ) Fortner, West Carolton, Ohio; six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Magill.
A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Messages of condolence may be expressed online at www.sunsetmemorygarden.com.
