Cynthia H. Groves, 75, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away at 2:02 pm on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Community Howard Regional Health Center, with her son by her side. She was born June 20, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to George A. Goins and Laverne H. (Lemmel) Goins Harvey. Cindy graduated from Northwestern High School in 1965.
On Oct. 30, 1965, she married Charles Frederick Groves, who preceded her in death, January of 1994.
From 1986-1998, she worked for Engel Jewelers. From 1998 until 2001, she worked as a caregiver for a family friend. From 2002 until 2013, she worked as a receptionist for Bergstrom, Lenon, and Clark, PC.
Cindy was an active part of her community. She had an infectious smile and was loved by many! Cindy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Kiwanis Club of Kokomo, past member of ABATE of INDIANA, and also a past member of the ASPHALT TEMPLARS. Cindy loved working with the Showhomes, with Howard Haven and the United Way in Kokomo for many years!
She loved flowers ,gardening, and music, but most of all she loved being with her friends and family!
She is survived by her son, Charles Brian (Renita) Groves of Kokomo, two grandchildren, Shelby (Carden) Shelley and Charley A Groves of Kokomo, two great grandchildren, Bentley & Zoey Groves of Kokomo, a sister, Sheryl Rhees of Kokomo, a brother, Glenn (Irene) Goins, of Germany, brothers-in-law, Russell (Leesa) Groves of Logansport, Jerry (Cindy) Groves of Bringhurst, Don (Laura) Groves of Fort Wayne, sister-in-law, Jayne (Bill) Householder of Peru, a nephew, Lucas (Angie) Rhees of Kokomo, nieces, Michelle Goins, Stephanie Groves, Shannon (Brian) Banta, Jesse (Brandon) Reese, Jennifer Groves, Rachel (Brad) Moody , and many great nieces and nephews, as well as long standing family friends, Bill & Nancy Meehan, and Greg & Mary Jay, along with many other faithful friends!!
Preceding her in death were her mother and father, brother, Curtis F Goins, brother-in-law Richard Rhees, sister-in-law Elizabeth Maddox, mother-in-law, Melba Groves.
Among many others, Cindy will be sorely missed by her cat Spaz Marie!
Services will be on Tuesday, November 29 at Ellers mortuary on Webster Street in Kokomo Indiana at 1pm. There will be a time for visitation from 10am until the service begins. Burial will follow in procession to Cindy's final resting place, Sunset Memory Gardens, immediately following the service.
